As a rental store, Camelot Party Rentals is in a unique position to positively affect efforts to lessen the environmental impact on our planet.  As we deal with many one-time events, we offer an alternative to people to rent rather than buy, reducing storage, transportation and the manufacturing costs associated with purchasing that same equipment.  With over two decades of operation we still have some original equipment that has been out to literally hundreds of events during that time. We place a high standard on the maintenance of our equipment to maximize its lifespan and the times it can be used before its retirement and replacement. We know there are many things that we can do better and we will continue to find solutions that are both pragmatic for our customers while being environmentally friendly. 

Some highlights of our recent efforts include:

-Installing new light fixtures and bulbs in an office area reducing its power consumption from a maximum of 360 watts to 18 watts.

-Making a company wide effort to turn off lights in sections of the warehouse and office when not in use.

-Updating or replacing light fixtures and bulbs in our warehouse with more energy efficient models creating about a 40% reduction in power consumption when in use.

-Placing an emphasis on loading deliveries and customer pick-ups correctly to reduce additional vehicle trips to correct problems.

-Placing an emphasis on handling and maintenance of our equipment to maximize the usable life-span of our inventory.

-Conducting daily inspections and performing regular maintenance of our delivery trucks to maximize their fuel efficiency.

-Utilizing non-toxic, environmentally friendly chemicals in our laundry department.

-We are in the process of changing our linen storage methods to reduce bag and hangar usage.

-Recycling employee cans and bottles.

-Redesigning brochures and equipment instruction handouts to more effectively use paper space and reduce paper usage.

-Switching in July 2009 to a more eco-friendly chemical regiment that has produced about 15% less chemical and water usage per load of laundry.

Proper installation, care and maintenance of a tent top and its components can extend the viable usage of a tent for many years beyond its typical lifespan.

Camelot Party Rentals is committed to finding new products and better storage and maintenance methods to reduce our environmental impact.
