...Seating is simply how many chairs you can arrange in a given area for an audience to view your presentation- whether it be a wedding ceremony, a company meeting or a concert. Listed below is our formula for determining how many people can fit into an area with front facing seating, including aisles. Angling chairs will alter the formula but using a rule of thumb of 6 sq. ft. per person will give you a close approximation.
-Seating is figured at 1.5’ x 3.5’ per chair (front facing).
-1.5’ represents the width of the chair. Chairs will be positioned shoulder to shoulder against other chairs in it’s row. If you desire extra space between chairs please
add appropriate new measurements.
-3.5’ represents 1.75’ for the seat and 1.75’ for the aisle in each row.
-Center aisles are figured as the equivalent of 2 chair widths which equals 3’.
SIDE AUDIENCE WILL FACE (rows)
1.5’ per chair, 3’ per aisle
-To determine your seating needs, figure your space on the left chart (rows) by the space on the right chart (columns) and multiply those two numbers to get the total of how many guests you can seat in an area.
